In The Metro: My Fave Items at #ManilaFAME

My friend Charisse is the force behind the fabulous The Manila Collectible Co.  and the woman needs inspiration from time to time. When she suggested Manila FAME, the design and lifestyle event, for spirit replenishment and item sourcing I immediately volunteered to tag along because I had never been.

So glad I did! There’s so much to see from arts and crafts to home decor to fashion items and a lot of them are not sold in stores just yet. Check out some of my favorite things:

Vesti by Martha Rodriguez

Martha is from Cagayan De Oro and she showcases Mindanaoan fabrics in her bags. I fell really hard for this black leather + T’nalak + metal stud number. What a beauty!

The Jersetter

It’s a little pricey for me (probably because I’m not very big on bags) but I’m marinating on it. Hard.

If you wanna see more, you can schedule a visit to her showroom through 0917 813 8701 or check out her website.

Shell Arts Company

Gone are the days when capiz flatware and the like will transport you to your Lola’s kitchen. Look how whimsical and fun!

They have a showroom in Makati that you can schedule to see through 0917 525 8197.

Benjoy

Doorknob bears?? Oh my god, I die from cuteness.

Everything in the Benjoy stall, from the softly stuffed dolls to fabric rattles, made me squeal a little with delight and fantasize about decorating my non-existent nursery.

Check out what other Benjoys there are in the world by clicking here.

Art 24

I imagine an acid trip would look like this.

I really love a fat girl figure. I have a few in yoga postures decorating my bookshelf. But mine are made of some kind of metal while this and every other figure here is made of resin.

Art 24 CEO and artist Junry Manjares explained that his pieces used to be for export-only but no longer, yay!

From what I overheard of his conversation with Charisse, he makes customized pieces. If you wanna go see more at his Parañaque showroom, ring him at 0912 200 2670. (That psychedelic snake! ❤ )

This is the tip of the beautiful Manila FAME iceberg so go see it all yourself if you can! They’re on til Monday at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
